Where I Have Lived

As you can see below, I’m a “California Boy” through-and-through.

HOWEVER, I do remember a story from my parents: First, I was a “happy accident” … I wasn’t planned! My dad was working at the Naval Air Station in Alameda, CA as a jet engine mechanic and wanted to move back to Hawai’i. So, he interviewed at TWA (Trans-World Airlines) and was offered a job. That same day, my mom found out she was pregnant with me, so they decided to stay in California. If they had found out a day or so later, he would have accepted the job, they would have moved, and I would have been born in the (then) Territory of Hawai’i!

Hayward, CA

I was born in Castro Valley at Eden Hospital, and at the time my parents lived at <insert address>. We lived there until I was about 3 years old, and have very few memories, save for a few that I’ve listed in <insert page>.

My parents wanted to move to Pleasant Hill, but during the transition while looking for a house, we lived in an apartment in the hills of Hayward. I only have ONE memory of living there … a VERY BAD dream! I dreamt that there was an army of “Mr. Machine’s” attacking me. It was horrifying! I don’t know why this happened, or why it stuck with me my entire life.

Pleasant Hill, CA

In 1960, we moved to 849 Jeffry Drive, Pleasant Hill, CA 94523. This is the house where I grew up, from starting at Gregory Gardens Elementary School, through Valley View Intermediate School, College Park High School, Diablo Valley College, and California State University Chico.

Chico, CA

While still retaining a bedroom at my parents house, for my legal residence, while I attended California State University, Chico (“CSU Chico” or “Chico State”), I spent my Junior living in Whitney Hall, the first semester in room 920, and the second semester in room 924.

My Senior Year I moved to 542 Nord Avenue, Chico, CA 95926 into the University Terrace Apartments, the first semester in Apt. 6, then the second semester into Apt. 3.

Sunnyvale, CA

After graduating from Chico State, and after returning from my 1978 Summer Tour with the Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps, and in August of 1978 I moved to 1001 Evelyn Terrace East, Sunnyvale, CA 94086, Unit #188. I moved in with my buddy Deane Powell, and we lived there for about a year.

“Silicon Valley” was just starting its boom times then, and there were a LOT of new houses, townhouses, and condo’s being built. We found one we liked, and in 1979 we purchased 1237J Henderson Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086. It was a 3-bedroom townhouse that Deane and I purchased along with Jeff Maenaga … the Three Musketeers!

The three of us lived there until 1984, when Jeff got married and moved out, and then in 1985 I got married to Karen Marie Shepard, and Deane moved out. I purchased the entire townhouse from Deane and Jeff. Karen and I lived there until early 1988 when we sold the townhouse and moved to a temporary apartment complex, the Magnolia Square Apartments, at 107 S. Mary Street, Sunnyvale, CA 94086 until our new house in Mountain View was finished being built.

Mountain View, CA

On <date>, 1988, Karen and I moved into our BRAND NEW house at 300 Windmill Park Lane, Mountain View, CA 94043. We lived there until we separated in 19xx, and I moved to:

Redwood City, CA

I first lived in a newly renovated duplex at <address>

Friends of mine were going to be working out of the country for a year, so I volunteered to house-sit and cat-sit for them, so I moved to <address>, where I was living in the hills and had a great view of the bay!

Stockton, CA

To be closer to my girlfriend, Francesca, I moved, in 2004, to a condo that I purchased at 1613 West Swain Road, Stockton, CA 95207.

I lived there until Francesca and I were married in 2005, when I moved to 6110 Garnica Court, Stockton, CA 95215, where we still live.
